Making Every Room Feel Like Home
Sara Katharyn, or Kate, as my grandpa affectionately called her, is the inspiration for Sara Kate Vintage. Kate had a small collection of beautiful vintage pitchers sitting in the window of her summer cottage that has stuck in my memory since I was a child. Those pitchers were used to put water on the table for the mid-day meal which she always let me choose which one would grace that days table. I have fond memories of homemade beef and noodles, cucumber salad, freshly sliced garden tomatoes, homemade rolls and butter, and cream pie for dessert. I can hear the stories, laughter, and beautiful faces of loved ones sitting around the table.
Kate had a special way of making you feel loved, either through filling your belly with delicious treats, or with a warm squishy hug. She had a big laugh and a sweet way of making sure you felt seen. I remember Kate's beautiful personality now by seeing the special pieces I have displayed in my home- a vintage candy dish, vintage coin dot pitcher, and an old clock. I am so grateful for Kate and all the memories I shared with her, standing next to her baking cookies, snapping beans or shelling peas, and being embraced by her warm hugs.
May you find sweet memories and create new special bonds with those you love.
Love,
Amy Katharyn
